Panama - Journal Entry #2

UP!UP!&AWAY! Crud. There goes my lunch

Great. Stuck on a plane for 15HRS. This is the best.

So, Last night, we drove to the best Western in Seattle. We stopped off at Jack in the Box where we got our dinner, It is about 11PM. It was my first JackInTheBox experience. It was 'AIGHT
Would've preferred Burger King though I think.

But to each their own.

After Jack in the Box, we went over to Walmart to pick up some last minute things for the guys mostly.
I found myself a lovely pair of camo moccasins. They are quite nice. I thoroughly enjoy them.

Then we carried on our journey to the hotel, we got there around midnight,
nothing special,
we got our designated rooms then went straight to bed!
There was 2 queen size beds in the girls room.
But only 3 girls.

You do the math.

5AM has never come so quickly.
I thought that I only needed to get up at 5:10A because the shuttle left at 5:30A, and was quite prompt.
BUT then I heard there was a COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST. with make-it-yourself WAFFLES.
I was ready to go in about 2 minutes.

So I ran downstairs, Poured my waffle batter, Put it in the press, Slammed it shut, Waited the 4Minutes, It beeped, It was 530. Time to go.
No waffle for me.

(My stomach continued to hurt while we were driving to the airport, the whole 15HRS on the plane and it didnt matter what I ate or how I laid on my stomach. It killed.)

We got on the shuttle bus to go to the Airport, but when we got there and went to check in the guy started freaking out and saying we shouldve been there 2HRS before then when we had arrived.
He stated that our flight was now boarding and then called the gates to keep them open for us.

So we then proceeded to RUN to the gate and when we were running across the airport we heard an announcement come on that said there was 2Minutes until our flight departed!
So we started to GALLOP

It was right out of Home Alone. I swear.

WE MADE IT!!!
By about one minute. Literally.
So we were onboard, NEWARK,NewJersey bound (Yes this word does sound like New York, and yes, I did think that we were going to New York for about half the plane ride there. But was sadly corrected. We could see New York out of the plane window though!)

While we in the air everyone was sleeping, But, silly Starbucks has me up at these hours so I was fine. Nice and AWAKE,
UGH.
So I pranked Mackenzie.
While he was passed out beside me, I crammed/stuffed his fists with licorice, so when he awoke he was very confused when he went to yawn and gripped his hands and they were full of licorice. PRANKED.
Too funny.
I was laughing hysterically, no one else knew why. No one.
I looked/sounded like I was insane.

The farms from skyview were so amazing and interesting and just so organized! it was crazy. I wonder if farmers have employees that take flights just over their field and help them organize their farms. Kind of like Tetris I guess.

Then some other areas just looked like little cakes.

We arrived in Newark at 2:45PM
Walked around the airport and found some things for lunch.
We found a HUGE Samsung charger to charge our phones.ipods etc. it was crazy.

Mackenzie thought he had left his sunglasses on the plane and was quite upset. but then he found them in his backpack!

Then we started to board for Panama, which was about a 5 HR flight, this flight was alot better, because I actually was able to sleep for about 20M.
I attempted to prepare myself for this trip a little more,
Mackenzie&I bought a crossword book. that lasted for about half an hour.
4.5HRS to go.
Great.

On the upside though. There was a BEAUTIFUL sunset on the Caribbean Sea. Breathtaking.

When we were aboard the plane and had to fill out some paper stating what our purpose there was, how long we would be staying for and how much money we had. The flight attendants said that it was only one per family (IE Mackenzie&Derek) but when we got to customs in Panama, Mackenzie had to fill out an additional one. Weird. Then we met up with Steve, Todd, Marilena, Eduardo, and a few of their friends from their Church. Todd told us not to let any of the airport people help us with our bags because they would just ask for money.
One guy tried to take my suitcase and 'help' me, and I was still hanging on to it telling him no, and Todd came and grabbed it away from the man. PHEWF.

Then we got to Hotel Venecia! WAHOOOOO. it was great.
there was a club right across the street that was open all night. people partying 24/7
It was crazy.
We had a gorgeous view though.

Time to get some shut eye.
Who knows what tommorow will hold in store for us all!
All i know is that Im excited!
Goodnight Panama!
