Adventure Time.

At the beginning of February, Mackenzie and I went to go and visit my aunt and family on Vancouver Island for the weekend. We left Friday afternoon and returned Monday evening. It was so fun and refreshing to just spend time away and relax. No schedules, No homework, and no plans. Even though it was a very short time away, it was well needed and I can't wait to take more trips like this one!

We left Friday afternoon for the 7PM ferrie. We missed it; figures.
We were 2 hours early for the next ferrie.
When we reached the other side, we waited some more for the bus, where 3 separate Taxi drivers were peddling the bus line to take Taxi's and how the bus wasn't going to be there for another 45 minutes, and that they would get them to downtown within 20 minutes, which sounded like a pretty good deal, except that they were asking for $20 per person. Sure ill get right on that.
The bus came within 15 minutes of these Taxi drivers bluffs of waiting in the freezing cold.
After the scenic route of downtown Victoria and the party strip of the city, we found ourselves plunked right in the middle of all of it.
Great.
No different than Vancouver, I assure you.
But; one phone call away, and my aunt was there!
We arrived at my aunt's house at about 1:15AM

The next day I awoke at 8AM and we were off to take in whatever Victoria had to offer! Started off our morning by heading to the heart of Victoria.

First docket on the list was the wonderful Museum! Oh how wonderful it was.
The photography exhibit was amazing! ..I encourage all of you to go out and see it.
Then we headed to the docks and sea side walks; we headed uptown towards china town.
We stopped at MECA, the mountain equipment store. and I FINALLY found a backpack cover!!!! YAY!!

Stopped at an awesome 'Sam's Deli' for lunch (recommended by my aunt) and carried on to a café, where our Medium coffee and Medium Americano Misto came to a grand total of $5! --> Great stuff.

Cool wall painting!

After we had our coffees, we sat and chatted for a while and i had the chance to Skype with my beloved Sarah for her dear dear birthday.
We also found a beer store - this was a highlight of the trip for Mackenzie, he was pretty excited and made some purchases.

After this we travelled around some more and found some of my cousins at a sushi restaurant. we had all you can eat. need I say more?

The next day we awoke, and set off for another fun filled day of adventure.
Taking the bus; where we actually got on this time because we knew where it would take us!
mackenzie and i arrived at the Waffles house - so good, the best waffles I've ever had! ...of course i got your typical strawberries and whipped cream but mackenzie got this salsa thing; he said it was unreal but i don't know how i would feel about it haha.

After this we didn't know what to do or where to go but we knew we had roughly 5 hours until our big evening; so what did we do? I checked my bag and had some loose change so we hopped on the next double decker bus, didn't know where it was going, but thats okay, we raced to the top and sit at the very front; it was so much fun!! ahah.

Feeding the ducks - this was so super fun; they all loved us haha, they even made an assembly line, following us from pond to pond. oh and there were peacocks. PEACOCKS. so awesome!
running wild and running free!

Sams Rugby/Aunty Lynn's Soccer - this was fun to see and was quite eventful to watch! Although the other team that was to verse Sam didn't show. Lamesauce.

At the end of all this, what we were really there for happened.
The biggest best bash we've had this year, a nice kickoff for the next to come; Aunty Cathy's house warming! So much food and so much love and laughter. So good and So needed.
Love our family get togethers, and it made it even better that mackenzie and i had ventured and travelled all over Victoria for the past few days, just having that relaxing time was awesome!

This weekend away was so awesome, and it is definitely not the last time that we do this; so pumped.

oh and PS;
2 things happened on the ferrie home.

Mackenzie and i had walked past a vending machine on the way to the car, there were 2 bags of smart food that were angled wrong at the bottom of the machine, they were stuck. So we went to go and buy some fruit gummies at the tope of the machine just over it so the weight would push the two bags out as well, but then when i went to put the money in there was an out of order sign on it. But were dare-devils looking for the next thrill so we did it. I put the change in. The machine started to move and the gummies came out; fell on the smart food and everything came out. It was awesome. There was people watching!!! i felt famous. and smart.
we are awesome. BOOYA BABY!!
Perfect way to end the perfect trip!!
